Clemons commits to Lincoln Memorial
Millbrook Graduate Carlee Clemons has announced his college commitment. The two time Cap-8 All Conference Selection will be attending Division II, Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee.
Known nationally for his high flying dunks, the 6'0 Guard averaged double digit points in both his junior and senior seasons. Despite a several month bout with staph infection in August and a shoulder injury late in his senior season, Clemons managed to draw the attention of college coaches during his play this summer on the AAU circuit. He also scored 8 points on July 21st as a member of the East All-Star team in the NCCA East-West High School Basketball game in Greensboro, NC.
Clemons was a four year member of the basketball program and played on varsity for three years. While at Millbrook, Clemons was featured three times on ESPN's Top 10 Plays on Sportscenter, and was voted into the American Family Insurance, National High School Dunk Championship in Dallas, Texas in March. Clemons was named academic all-conference for this season and averaged 10.4 PPG, his career high was 29 on November 21st, 2012 vs. Southern Durham.
Carlee joins a Lincoln Memorial team coached by Josh Schertz. The Railsplitters are located in Harrogate, Tennessee and play Division II Basketball in the South Atlantic Conference. In 2015 conference play, Clemons will have the chance to face off twice against former teammates, Rha'Kwon Bryant and Jake Wilson who are incoming freshman to Lenior Rhyne University, those matchups are January 3rd in Hickory, and February 14th in Harrogate.
