Millbrook to host Phenom Hoop Report Showcase Event
SEPTEMBER, 22ND- Jamie Shaw and Rick Lewis of Phenom Hoop Report announced a showcase event for Saturday, December 6th at Millbrook High School.
The event will feature ten of the top teams and recruits from the state of North Carolina, all in the span of eight hours at Millbrook.
Hoggard High School who will pay visit to Millbrook on Friday, December 5th, will hang around another day to play Juan Munoz, and the Panther Creek Catamounts who qualified for the NCHSAA Eastern Regionals in 2014 at 1:00pm for the event's first matchup. Following the Vikings and Catamounts, we see a pair of private schools duke it out as Village Christian Academy from Fayetteville faces local Neuse Christian Academy. For the 4:30 matchup, Fayetteville's Freedom Academy pits their their two big men in TG Mshugter and Marko Tomic vs. Carmel Christian Academy from just outside of Charlotte, NC. In the penultimate showdown, Fayetteville's 3A Terry Sanford takes on East Carolina commit, Kentrell Barkley and the Northern Durham Knights. That game is slated to tip off at 6:00pm.
In the primetime matchup to conclude the Millbrook showcase, the Wildcats will square off with private school powerhouse, Trinity Christian School from Fayetteville, NC. The 2014 1A NCISAA State Champions return Point Guard, Dennis Smith Jr. who Phenom Hoop Report ranks #2 amongst North Carolina recruits in the Class of 2016, the 6'2 guard has already received offers from Duke, UNC, NC State, and Kansas. The Crusaders will be opposed by Chris Clemons and the Millbrook Wildcats who finished 2014 as the NCHSAA Eastern Regional Runner-Ups. They return three starters from last season including their two leading scorers, Robert Brown, and Chris Clemons.
