Jonathan Moore inducted to 2014 Hall of Fame

OCTOBER 3RD- Former Millbrook Basketball star, Jonathan Moore became the 28th inductee to the Millbrook High School Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday afternoon.

Moore, 6'8 lettered three years for Coach Dexter Cooley, and totaled 1,158 points in his career. He was named "Most Improved Player" during his Sophomore campaign following being cut from the JV roster his Freshman season. Moore concluded his Millbrook career by winning the team MVP award during his Junior and Senior seasons. He was named the Cap-8 Conference Player of the Year in both 1999, and 2000 along with being named to the Glaxo Smith Kline Holiday Invitational All-Tournament team as a Junior.

His 1,158 points are second all-time in Millbrook history, behind Princston Terry's 1,228. Moore twice cracked the record books in most points in a single season as he is 3rd and 6th place overall respectively. Moore was nominated for the McDonalds All-American game as a senior, and won the MVP in the 2000 NCCA East-West All-Star Game.

Following his time at Millbrook, Moore took the court for two seasons at East Carolina before transferring to North Carolina Central where he put himself on the map nationally after scoring 845 points in his two years as an Eagle. Despite going undrafted in 2004, Moore played for the Los Angeles Clippers Summer Development team in Las Vegas before playing parts of three seasons in the NBA's D-League.

Jonathan then ventured overseas to Germany, and has since found a home amongst Europe's top professional leagues. Moore currently starts for the Crailsheim Merlins in Germany following stints in countries such as Sweden and Iceland. Moore plans to retire as a Merlin in 2016 and reside in his offseason home in Florida.
