Chris Clemons put together a career high 24 point performance in Tuesday's opener vs. East Wake, the 5'9 Senior etched his name into Millbrook's record books with his performance Thursday night at Northern Durham.

The Wildcats entered Northern 1-0 but losers of their last 2 regular season games to the Knights. Clemons and Co. jumped out to an early lead and ended up holding on for the 88-73 non-conference road win.

Clemons got things going early with 4 three pointers from long range along with Senior Robert Brown pitching in with 6 first quarter points. Clemons capped off another 14 point 1st Quarter with a huge two handed slam on the fastbreak to bring the fans in the Poe Gymnasium to their feet. Northern managed to shut Clemons down in the second stanza and inch their way back into the game but it was guard Jordan Sterrett who helped the Wildcats take a 12 point lead into the half as he hit two baskets from beyond the arc to close out the quarter.

Millbrook would have answers for Northern's comeback as each time the Knights would seem to gain momentum, the Wildcats would take it right back on the ensuing possession. Sterrett knocked down another three ball to start the 3rd and followed it with a steal and layup on the fastbreak, the 5'11 Senior finished with a career high 11 points and as Coach Scott McInnes told HighSchoolOT.com's Zach Mayo postgame, "Jordan was our MVP tonight, he is our glue guy and contributed in all aspects of the game, from big shots, to rebounding, deflections, and steals, Jordan really led us tonight".

Clemons would end his night on a high note as he got a trio of floaters to fall along with knocking down all of his free throws (the Wildcats went 14/15 from the charity stripe on Thursday night) to tie Millbrook Hall of Famer Jonathan Moore for 5th Place in the Most Points Scored in a Single Game category. Chris finished with 35 points, four shy of Anton Gill's 39 in 1990.
