Clemons' 38 keeps Cats undefeated

Coming off of a thrilling win on Saturday night, Millbrook welcomed the 1-3 Middle Creek Mustangs to tangle in a non-conference matchup. Robert Brown got the offense going for the Cats along with Chris Clemons who went into halftime with 16 points.

Clemons picked up where he left off in the second half with a three from well beyond the arc, and Brown once again posted up for two points. Rob finished with a season high 24 points, and double digit rebounds for his first double-double of the season. Chris Clemons finished with another career high in points tonight with 38. It’s his third time eclipsing 30 plus points this year and he fell one point short of Anton Gill Senior’s 39 points set back in 1990 vs. Apex.

Rashad George went for 9 points on the night, and knew that Middle Creek’s scrappy play would cause some problems for he and his teammates. He is also expecting much of the same from Enloe on Wednesday.

The Mustangs would not go away until the final minutes of the 4th quarter when Monte’ Harris drove to the lane for a basket that gave Millbrook the 97-79 lead, that would be the final score as Millbrook moves to 6 and 0 on the season.

The Wildcats start Cap-8 play on Wednesday and are out to defend their conference championship. JV takes the court at Enloe at 5:30 followed by Varsity at 7:00.
