Cats overcome slow start to defeat Wolverines

Millbrook started off the new year a bit sluggish as they entered a conference matchup with the Wakefield Wolverines who sit at the basement of the Cap-8.

On the road, the Wildcats were unable to hit shots early as they only registered 11 first quarter points and trailed by 2 after the first stanza. Connor McGinnis gave the Wolverines the 15-13 lead with seven minutes remaining in the half. Chris Clemons would take the inbound following the basket and storm down court untouched for the one handed slam. From that point on, Millbrook would not trail as that dunk would account for 2 of Clemons' 22 in the game.

Andrew Evans regained his shooting stroke as the game went along, the HighSchoolOT.com Holiday Invitational All-Tournament member knocked down 18 points including 3 from beyond the arc along with a dunk in the second half. He was followed by Faison Brock's 13, and Robert Brown's 11. Junior Monte' Harris shined as well for the blue and white as he posted a career high 8 points en route to the 83-46 win. Millbrook moves to 13-1, 4-0 in the Cap-8 Conference.
