Clemons' 30 propels Wildcats

In a matchup of the first and second place team's in the Cap-8 Conference, it was the Wildcats who walked out of Leesville victorious with a 91-67 win which moves them to 16-1 on the season, 7-0 in conference play.

Chris Clemons paced the 'Cats early as hit knocked down four of his first five three point attempts in the first quarter. Trejon Jacob would cap off the stanza with a dunk via an Andrew Evans steal and assist. The Pride managed to keep things close early on as it was 19-16 Millbrook after one. Clemons stayed hot for the remainder of the half as he would add 7 more points in the second quarter. Jacob and Evans would find their scoring touch just before halftime as Millbrook closed out the 2nd on a 22-2 run.

Evans' would hit a pair of three's in the 3rd Quarter followed by a three point play, a layup, and a one handed slam en route to an 18 point night. Andrew has scored 18, 19, 18, and 18 points respectively so far in the new year. His teammate in the backcourt had it going all night long. It appeared that Chris Clemons was on pace for Anton Gill Sr.'s all-time record of 39 points in a game after he threw down a vicious two handed slam but the 5'9 Campbell commit opted to share the rock as he contributed 4 assists down the stretch including one to Reid Herring for his first of two three pointers on the night. Herring registered a career high with 6 points in the game, raising his scoring total to 2.1 points per game this season.

The Wildcats return to action on Friday as they host Enloe for a quad. JV starts at 5:15, and Varsity will follow the Women's team at 8:00. It is “Rise Rashid Night” in honor of Coach Williams' 30th Birthday, and the release of his new mixtape, “Microphone-X”. All Millbrook Maniacs are encouraged to dress up like Williams with prizes to be handed out to the best dressed.
