Clemons' 40 locks up Cap-8 title
It was the last home regular season game for seniors Mykel Harris, Jordan Sterrett, Andrew Evans, Chris Clemons, Robert Brown, Aviance Beck, Alexis Sukidi, and Lindsey Cirillo. With a win vs. the visiting Leesville Pride, the Wildcats could win their 4th straight Cap-8 Conference title.
Harris, in his first year with the Wildcats made his first career start and helped bring Millbrook early energy in the game as they went on an 11-0 run to end the first stanza. Leesville would slow the pace down and hang with the Wildcats. Clemons paced Millbrook with 17 in the first half along with 5 from Jordan Sterrett early on. Leesville would cut the Wildcat lead to 4 in the 3rd Quarter before Clemons took over and scored 10 straight points. From there, Millbrook never looked back. Robert Brown added 17 in the game but it was once again Chris Clemons who turned in his school record 8th 30+ point performance of his career and this time, he got over the elusive 38 point mark en route to setting the school record by scoring 40 points on two free throws with 11 seconds left in the game.
