5 Wildcats receive All-Conference Honors
Five members of the Varsity basketball program received Cap-8 All-Conference honors for this season.
Cap-8 Coach of the Year: Scott McInnes
Coach McInnes entered his 15th season at the helm of the basketball program and led the team to 26 wins which is tied for the most in a single season in school history. He coached his 400th Career Game at Millbrook on December 22nd vs. Hoggard and won his program leading 300th game at Millbrook on January 27th at Wake Forest. Between Millbrook and Bunn High School, this is the 9th time that Coach McInnes has taken home Coach of the Year honors. The Millbrook alum ('87) has an all-time record of 426-141 (.751) entering next season, his all-time record with the Wildcats is 308-111 (.735). The Wildcats have qualified for the playoffs in all 15 of Coach McInnes' seasons at the school.
Cap-8 Conference Player of the Year: Chris Clemons
Chris Clemons had the best statistical season of any player and Millbrook Men's Basketball history and was rewarded with his second straight Cap-8 Conference Player of the Year award. This season, Chris will share co-
honors with Broughton's Jerome Robinson. Clemons averaged 24.1 PPG in 29 games this season. His 699 points this season were the most in a single season in school history, he scored 30+ points on ten occasions this season and twice set the school record for the most points in a single game with 40 on February 10th vs. Leesville, then 41 on March 3rd vs. Knightdale. The 5'9 Campbell commit made ESPN's SportsCenter Top 10 Plays on January 23rd after throwing a pass off of the backboard to himself for a dunk vs. Enloe. Chris entered his senior season with 531 career points which was good for 33rd all-time in program history. On January 27th, Chris scored his 1,000th career point in a win at Wake Forest, and he wrapped up his high school career with the 2nd most points of any player in Millbrook Men's Basketball history with 1,230. He was also a two time recipient of the Millbrook PDQ Athlete of the Week award, the Coastal Federal Credit Union/99.9 The Fan Scholar Athlete of the Month for October 2014, the Raleigh Sports Club Athlete of the Week in February of 2015, the 2014 HighSchoolOT.com Holiday Invitational Most Outstanding Player after scoring the 4th most points in tournament history, lastly Chris was named an outstanding senior for the class of 2015 by his peers.
1st Team All Cap-8 Conference: Robert Brown, and Andrew Evans
Rob ends his high school basketball career as one of the greatest players in program history. He played all four years on Varsity and was named to the All-Conference team for the last three seasons. He was an All-Region selection in 2014 and 2015 after averaging 20.5 points per game in this year's regionals. Rob had 14.7 PPG this season, the most in his career. On December 26th he scored his 1,000th career point vs. Garner, Brown etched his named into the record books as Millbrook's all-time leading scorer on March 3rd with 27 points vs. Knightdale. Rob Brown ended his career with 1,280 career points, while playing the most games of any player in program history, along with the most wins of any player in program history.
Andrew appeared in Varsity games all four seasons at Millbrook but lettered his final two seasons. He was a 2nd Team All-Conference selection last year and his 14.4 PPG propelled him to 1st Team honors this season. He scored in double figures 22 times during the season and set a new career high in points with 23. In the regional semi-final, Evans recorded his first career double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds vs. Seventy First. Andrew was a Millbrook PDQ Athlete of the Week, an All-Tournament selection in the 2014 HighSchoolOT.com Holiday Invitational and an All-Region selection along with being chosen as an outstanding senior in the class of 2015 by his peers.
2nd Team All-Conference: Faison Brock
Faison began his 2nd Varsity season with the Wildcats and started 28 of the team's 29 games. He averaged 7.4 PPG and led the team in rebounding with 7.8 boards per game. He had four double-doubles this season and took 8 charges. He set his career high in rebounds with 15 vs. Broughton on January 30th and his career high in points with 16 vs. Trinity Christian on December 6th. Faison will return to the Wildcats starting lineup next season.
