'Cats well represented in All-Star Game
Six members of the Inaugural RDU High School All-Star Game will have ties to the Millbrook Basketball program when the ball tips on Saturday afternoon at Hillside High School in Durham.
Seniors, Chris Clemons, Rob Brown, and Andrew Evans along with 2014 graduate Brandon Goldsmith will suit up for the Capital City All-Stars who will be coached by Millbrook assistants Julius McKinley, and Jamal Williams.
Clemons, Brown, Evans, and Goldsmith account for four of the top twenty spots on the all-time scoring list in program history. Brown, leads all scorers with 1,280, Clemons finished 2nd All-Time with 1,230, then Evans and Goldsmith slotted 19th, and 20th respectively with over 550 career points at Millbrook.
Chris Clemons and Rob Brown enter the All-Star Game having been three year starters at Millbrook. Clemons is committed to at Campbell this fall, and Brown is slated to play at Winston Salem State University. Brandon Goldsmith will be taking his talents to the collegiate ranks as well this upcoming year as he recently committed to McCook CC Junior College in Nebraska following a post-grad season at Raleigh's Shooting 4 Greatness Academy. You will also find Andrew Evans on a collegiate court come October as the 6'1 Guard is still in the middle of his recruiting process.
The RDU All-Star Game enters it's first year as a one of a kind event in the Triangle. The event which benefits the "Youth Fitness Charity Campaign" pits the top talent from Durham against the top talent from their counterparts in Raleigh. The festivities kick off from Hillside High School in Durham at 4:00 PM and they include a dunk contest at halftime with a panel of judges that includes 2010 National Champion, Nolan Smith formerly of Duke University.
