Former Wildcat, Goldsmith picks McCook

Millbrook graduate, and former two year starter, Brandon Goldsmith announced his commitment to Division I Junior College, McCook Community College in McCook Nebraska on Friday afternoon.

Brandon was a three year letterwinner at Millbrook and scored 657 career points as a Wildcat, good enough for 20th All-Time in program history. He took home Cap-8 All-Conference honors during his junior and senior seasons all while helping lead the team to the Eastern Regional finals as a senior when he averaged 11.9 points per contest including a career high 21 points which he achieved twice, most notably on his birthday vs. Garner in Round 2 of the 4A State Playoffs.

Goldsmith graduated in 2014 with plans of attending Lawson State Community College in Alabama before settling on an opportunity to hone his skills back home in Raleigh at Shooting 4 Greatness Academy. There, he scored 18 PPG and grabbed 5 boards per game.

As a two year Junior College, McCook Community College plays in Region IX of the NJCAA as a member of the NCCAC Conference. Last season, the Indians finished with a 16-15 record but it was on the heels of a program record 21 win season in 2014. McCook is led by Head Coach Brandon Lenhart and kicks off their season in early October as they face opponents from Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming, and more.
